Temperatures are reaching record highs this summer. Sometimes that can make you want to stay inside in the cool air conditioning but this weekend try tossing on a light weight romper and get out in your city and explore!
We live in Toronto, Canada so we thought it would be fun to share some of the things on the top of our list to do on a hot summer weekend. Most of the activities can be done in almost any city and we hope we inspire you to knock some things off your summer bucket list!
Our first fave is hitting up a rooftop patio! Dress to impress, grab a lounge chair, order a mojito and soak up the sun along with a skyline view. A lot of rooftop patios have DJs , pools and fun cabanas that make it really feel like an escape! We like to go to the Thompson Hotel rooftop pool and bar in downtown Toronto.
Next we suggest that you stop at your city’s trendiest ice cream shop! Cool off with a funky flavoured cone and treat yourself! Bang Bang Ice Cream in Toronto is the place to go if you are looking for something sweet. Lots of celebrities have been spotted waiting in line for their ice cream!
We also recommend going to a summer market in your neighbourhood. Toronto’so Kensington Market has amazing coffee shops and health food stores that we love to browse. Another market we love is the St.Lawrence market for its amazing produce and atmosphere!
One of our favourite city weekend activities is having a picnic in a park. Pack up your basket with some light and refreshing snacks and lay out a cute checkered blanket to really take it to the next level. Bring along a football or frisbee and you will have a great day out in nature and keeping active.
Last but not least why not try going to your cities waterfront (if it has one) and enjoying a patio or even a boat ride! The breeze on the water will feel much nicer than the downtown heat and there are plenty of fun things to do and see.
We hope we have inspired you to get out in your city and enjoy what it has to offer. What do you like to do in your city on a hot summer weekend? Share your pictures with us on Instagram and be sure to tag #meloninthecity and @melonlifestyleco !
